7th ISCHIA GLOBAL FILM & MUSIC FEST: from July 12th to 19th 2009

Music-icon Sting and Italian-director Francesca Archibugi will join Angela Bassett, Heather Graham, Joel Schumacher, Paul Haggis, Citto Maselli, and Matt Dillon among others at the 7th Ischia Global Film & Music Fest® which will take place from July 12th to 19th on the magnificent Green Island.

For the third year, the chairman of the event will be film director and producer Paul Haggis supported by Marina Cicogna, Franco Nero and – for the music section - Tony Renis whereas actress Malin Akerman and Martina Stella will host the event.

This year’s edition will re-launch the project to help international film productions in Italy: Chaired by Luciano Sovena (Cinecittà – Luce Spa), the 2nd Global Production Summit® that will involve many of the most influential film producers in the world.

the South African Film critic and Film Historian Prof Martin Botha will attend the festival. Prof Botha is not a stranger in Italy as he was awarded the Bronze Gripphon in 1994 in Italy and also contributed to the book on South African Film Industry “The new face of South Africa film ten years after apartheid” by Itala Vivan. He is also busy finalizing a dictionary on South African Films from 1910 up to date.

Ischia Global Fest 2009 will also include several international premieres, a retrospective on the best Italian films of the past season, concerts, awarding ceremonies and meetings with the stars and the audience in the movie theatres of Ischia Porto and Forio as well as in the spectacular arena prepared at the Regina Isabella bay in Lacco Ameno.
